Our
mission at PawPlace is simple: Connect
people around the globe as both friends and resources to one another, with pets
being the common interest they share.
There is no denying that pet ownership and their accompanying services
are growing in numbers. In fact, as of 2008, there were approximately 74.8
million dog owners and 88.3 millions cat owners in the United States alone (as
per Humane Society of the U.S., 3/17/2008).
Providing a medium for so many individuals in this population only makes
sense.
As the internet
continues to grow in popularity, how can we bring together millions of people
throughout the world, which share a common bond and use that bond to find
romance, help others, help themselves, and do it in a way which would be more
enjoyable and accessible than any other way?
That rhetorical question was answered in November of 2007, as two
buddies had lunch in a Chicago area restaurant and began to turn this idea into
a reality. In the following weeks,
thoughts were transferred onto paper of bringing together the very best aspects
of an online community, one which could serve its members in an enjoyable and
useful way, and allows its members to play a major role in the development of
this community to serve their own interests.
Born out of this idea, we at PawPlace.com have created your new place on
the web to socialize. The distinct sections
inside PawPlace.com (PawPrint, PuppyLove, Slick Pic, Blogs, City Guide, Pet Store, etc) provides member integration and fulfillment within the community.
Some
people have asked...what exactly is PawPlace?
Like a good recipe, PawPlace.com consists of many ingredients (social
networking, online dating, message boards, information, and entertainment),
which combine to make an interactive environment for all ages to enjoy. Whether you are young or old, single or
married, urban or rural, we at PawPlace.com urge you to join our community and
tell your friends to come along too!
Since PawPlace.com is a unique

probably did not know.
